MEET OUR MASSAGE THERAPIST
Amy Adams, LMT, CNMT
I have been a practicing Licensed Clinical Massage Therapist and Certified Neuromuscular Therapist in the Oxford/Anniston area for the past 23 years. I am a 1990 graduate of Munford High School and attended Gadsden State, finishing in 1992, with an Associates degree in Medical Office Administration. After completing college, I worked in a variety of medical practices including General Medicine, Neurology, and Physical Therapy, where I first became interested in the art of Massage Therapy. In 1998, I completed my certification as a Licensed Clinical Massage Therapist with specialty training as a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist at Red Mountain Institute for the Healing Arts in Birmingham.
In my practice, each client's session is tailored to specifically meet that individual's therapeutic needs and goals. Specific types of massage techniques I most commonly use to facilitate those are; Deep Tissue to address painful chronic patterns of tension, Neuromuscular Therapy for trigger point dysfunction, and Myofascial Release to stretch and release bonds between the fascia and muscles with the goal of eliminating pain and increasing range if motion. My main goal as a therapist is to always help each and every client achieve pain relief, increased range of motion and flexibility, and an overall improved quality of life.
Other areas of professional concentration also include Sports Massage for injury prevention and rehabilitation, Myoskeletal Alignment Technique for structural balance, Therapeutic Stretching, Prenatal Massage and Swedish Massage for relaxation.
I have experience working with clientele with a wide variety of problems including rotator cuff dysfunction, low back and hip pain, sciatica, chronic headaches and migraines, TMJ, plantar fascitis, IT band dysfunction, and Fibromyalgia.
